IFST welcomes senior food professionals 04 Nov 2009
The Institute of Food Science & Technology is pleased to announce the
election of the following new Fellows:
- Mrs Oonagh Monahan, formerly Manager, St Angela's Food Technology Centre, Sligo
- Mr Andrew Michael Sheard, Director Quality- Europe/Emerging Markets, Campbell
Europe
- Mr Richard John Turner, Technical Director, Uniq Prepared Foods
Fellowship is the senior category of membership of the IFST. It is awarded only
to those who have demonstrated a sustained level of exceptional professionalism
and who have made important achievements in relation to food.
We are also pleased to announce the election of the following new Chartered
Scientist:
- Dr Andrew John Kendrick, International Technical Development Manager, Lycored
The designation Chartered Scientist (CSci) represents a single chartered mark
for all scientists, recognising their high levels of professionalism and
competence in science. To qualify for the CSci designation applicants must
possess a
combination of high-level scientific knowledge and experience, sufficient to
meet
the CSci competencies. A key part of CSci status is a commitment to Continuing
Professional Development.
Chartered Scientist status is awarded by IFST to Members and Fellows under
licence from the Science Council.
