The Voice of the Food Profession
Jon Poole is responsible for the overall management of IFST affairs, providing continuity in policy and administration and external representation. He is Company Secretary with responsibility for the charity trust and is top-level point of contact for outside individuals, organisations and government bodies.
Deputy Chief Executive
Jane Emery assists with support and coordination of IFST Committees and has special responsibility for professional affairs and regional affairs activities as well as the administration of office services. She deputises for the CE in his absence.
Erin Taylor ensures the smooth operation of membership. She assists the Membership Accreditation Panel (MAP) with IFST's member recruitment process and also works with the Membership Committee (MC) to optimize it's activities and develop new initiatives. In addition Erin also advises, guides and supports branches and groups in optimising their activities and developing future plans
Angela Winchester ensures effective communication of IFST's activities internally and externally. She manages the flow of communication within the Institute itself, between members, staff and committees. In her role, Angela also takes on a number of responsibilities that fall under external communications, coordinating and carrying out communication tasks in support of the Institute's objectives and operational needs.
Technical and Registration Officer
Marjo is concerned with the scientific and technical affairs of the Institute. She provides valuable scientific and technical input to many sections of the Institute and serves as a liaison with the wider scientific community. Marjo ensures that scientific and technical material meets the Institute's high standards and is responsible for generating new and updating existing material. She also plays a key role in the Institute's accreditation activities and is directly involved with membership assessment, continuing professional development, and other registration processes.
Digital Content Editor
Working under the overall direction of the Editor-in-Chief, Sophia is responsible for commissioning, managing, editing, and disseminating content relating to the web-based version of IFST's respected magazine title – Food Science & Technology. Her role also includes responsibilities relating to content production for the main IFST website.
