The role
The role of Office Administrator in this busy professional society in
Hammersmith is key to our operation and success. We are seeking a logical and
organised
approach to this varied job that includes: e-mail, post duties, membership
administration, photocopying, filing, data entry, updating contact lists,
maintaining
stationery stocks, diary management, mailing standard information, providing
refreshments, shopping and reception duties that includes answering the phone,
taking deliveries and making visitors welcome.
The person
You should have a minimum of:
EITHER
Some experience in an office environment plus 2 good A'levels or higher (or
equivalent qualifications)
OR
1 year office experience plus 5 GCSEs (A-C) including English and Maths (or
equivalent qualifications)
OR
5 years office experience in similar work without qualifications.
You should have a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook. You must
have keyboard/typing skills (at least 30 wpm). Experience of using a database
would be an advantage.
You must have a high standard of English language comprehension and
communication (written and oral). Candidates without work experience using the
English
language will not be considered.
Accuracy and attention to detail is critical. It is also very important to
possess a positive "can do" attitude, flexibility, initiative and
tact. This is a very varied role and the ability multi-task is essential. You
will be working in a quiet small office environment.
You must be able to provide evidence of identity. If you are a non-EU citizen
you must also be able to provide documentary evidence that you have permission
to work in the UK and you must hold a valid National Insurance number.
The benefits
This is a permanent opportunity. We will help develop your skills with
on-the-job training.
A five day 35 hour week (Monday to Friday) is worked .
The holiday entitlement is 20 days (4 of which are held for the fixed period
24th December to 1st January), plus statutory Bank Holidays.
The annual starting salary will be in the range £17,000 - £19,000.
