Introduction
The IFST Young Scientist Competition is an annual competition offering undergraduate students the opportunity to present their current/recently completed food-related project (e.g. food science, food technology, human nutrition as well as other areas that help understand food) in front of an audience and to a panel of food professionals.
IFST Young Scientist Competition 2023
The Northern Ireland branch competition took place on Thursday 1 June @ 17:30 at Ulster University, Belfast campus, Block BC, Room BC-03-207 (York Street, Belfast BT15 1ED 18a)
Undergraduate students were invited to submit an abstract (max 250 words) on their project and shortlisted applicants were invited to deliver a 10-minute presentation on an overview of their work and its relevance to the food and drink sector.
The overall winner received a grand prize of £1,000 and 2 runners-up will receive £250 each, kindly sponsored by NIFDA, Northern Ireland Food and Drink Association www.nifda.co.uk.
