Why should you upgrade?
Not only do we believe you may be eligible to upgrade, there are a number of benefits to you such as:
- Providing you with recognition for your quality, related skills, experience and achievements
- Allowing you to use letters after your name to represent your particular grade of membership, show your commitment to quality and demonstrate your achievements
What level of membership should you upgrade to?
IFST membership is based around the amount of experience and any qualifications that you have obtained. The requirements for the different types of membership can be found here.
How to upgrade your membership
We want to make it as easy as possible for you to upgrade your membership.
It costs nothing to upgrade your level of membership. You’ll simply start paying the appropriate fee for your new grade when your membership is next due for renewal.
So, why not download the appropriate upgrade application form and guidance as to how to apply today. Remember, a formal degree is not a requirement for membership as we recognize the value of relevant experience and achievements.
How long will it take to upgrade?
As long as we have the required documentation, it shouldn’t take any longer than 28 days to upgrade your membership
and finally….
Depending on your qualifications, skills and experience, as a professional member of the Institute you may also be eligible to apply to become a Chartered Scientist (CSci), awarded by IFST under license from the Science Council.
