Data Protection Act 1998
IFST stores and uses the information supplied by applicants to facilitate the
running of the organisation, to maintain contact with all the members of the
Institute and to arrange for the distribution of IFST publications to members.
In order to provide members with our regular publications and with occasional
benefits such as our Year Planner and Members' Directory, we may provide your
name
and address to the companies that supply these items. We do not provide your
details to anyone outside the IFST without your permission. If you do not wish
your
details (or any part of them) to be disclosed to any of these companies, you
should let us know by writing to us.
We may use the information you give us to produce a directory of members (or
lists of specific groups of members) which we publish from time to time. We may
also publish the details of some members in our publications and on our website.
The IFST publications and directory may be sent to members worldwide. We only
provide the directory to members of the Institute. However, IFST publications
may be
bought eg by public or university libraries. There is also unrestricted access
to the public area of our website. This means that information in our
publications and on our website is available to the general public worldwide.
Access to the
Members Only area of our website is restricted to members worldwide. You should
note that many countries do not offer the same level of protection to data as
that provided within the EEA.
If you would prefer that your details (or any part of them) are not disclosed in
any of these ways, please ask the Membership Executive to provide you with further details as to how
you may limit the
availability of your personal data.
