Membership Myths

Myth: IFST is all about academia and has nothing to offer people working in industry

Not true
Sixty percent of our Members and Fellows are from the food industry. Membership provides opportunities for keeping up to date and networking with other professional. It also enables Members to gain additional qualifications.

Additional qualifications:

Fellowship FIFST designation
Many of our Fellows are from the food industry and they have achieved their fellowship through their significant contributions in a wide range of roles, for example food safety, manufacturing, product and process development and marketing.

Chartered Scientist CSci designation
The gold standard qualification, designation CSci has been achieved by many industrial Members and Fellows by making use of their work CPD records along with other details of their professional achievements.
