Since IFST launched its Group schemes back in 2011, we’ve recruited almost 700 members.
Membership of IFST has always been on an individual basis and this still remains the case. However, we recognise that some organisations already fund the membership fees for a number of their employees on an individual basis and more recently academic Institutions have recognised the growing need for their students to be aware and involved with a Professional Body that will ultimately support them once they’ve entered the workplace.
Based on this, IFST offers a set of incentives to encourage companies and academic institutions to enrol their employees/students on a group basis.
IFST's Chief Executive, Jon Poole, believes this development has been an important step forward in engaging with those in the profession and the wider food sector, who haven't previously engaged with IFST:
“By offering group schemes we have opened up access to IFST's membership to a far wider audience whilst at the same time fostering much closer relationships with organisations in the sector and stronger links with academic institutions”
