Finalists announced for Young Scientist Competition - Northern Ireland

This annual competition, now in its sixth year, is organised by IFST’s Northern Ireland Branch.  Having been asked to submit a one page abstract on their project or work experience. Finalists have now been shortlisted and invited to give a 10 minute presentation on 1 June 2017 at Ulster University where they will outline the outcomes from their project or work placement and its relevance to the food and drink sector and/or policy. They will be competing for a prize of up to £500* in front of a panel of judges which includes;

  • Craig Leeman, Incident Investigator, Food Standards Agency Northern Ireland

*Please note that a second instalment of £500 and £250 is be payable to the winner and runner up, respectively, were each to be employed in the agri-food industry in 6 months time.
