Concordat
16 March 2004: The Institute of Food Science & Technology and the Society of
Dairy Technology announced a Concordat between their two organisations.
The Institute of Food Science & Technology (IFST) is the independent
professional qualifying body for food scientists and technologists. The Society of
Dairy Technology (SDT) is the learned society for those working in the dairy and
related industries.
The Officers of these two organisations have agreed in principle to pursue the
idea of a Concordat: IFST will represent the interests of SDT to appropriate
external bodies in matters relating to scientific visibility, training and other
issues of mutual interest including publications. The SDT will explore issues of
sponsored members of IFST and representation on IFST Committees. The two
organisations will continue to explore on a regular basis the potential for future
synergy.
