GET INVOLVED BY BECOMING AN IFST AMBASSADOR – New for 2018

We are looking to build a network of Ambassadors to help IFST in our mission to promote ‘the voice of the food profession’ by 'sharing knowledge, being independent, promoting professional development and encouraging new entrants to the sector as an exciting, worthwhile and aspirational career path'.

We are currently focusing on developing and growing our profile in the following areas:

  • Students, both undergraduate and post graduate, encouraging them to pursue a career in the sector when they leave university
  • New professionals, supporting them to develop their careers by providing CPD activities to underpin this
  • Overseas, providing opportunities for international networking

The Ambassador role will provide you the opportunity to:

  • Network with like-minded individuals in the sector, through attending a range of events and contributing to IFST committees
  • Raise your professional profile through Ambassador activities
  • Be provided with a mentor with experience in Ambassador role/Industrial mentor

This is a 18 month appointment (Starting March 2018), during which Ambassadors will be expected to:

  • Assist with and promote IFST at events such as Big Bang, IFST Spring Conference
  • Attend and contribute to IFST committees
  • Act as an ambassador representative for IFST in their workplace / university
  • Contribute to our Food Science & Technology magazine, giving valuable experience in writing for non-academic publication, an important skill in an industrial setting

Note:  Expenses will be paid

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

  • IFST members only including the following:
    • Undergraduate & postgraduate students on UK courses from Foundation level through to PhD in food science or technology and related sciences
    • New professionals – anyone who has graduated from a food science course within three years of the start of the Ambassador award
    • Non degree professionals who are engaged and are part of a professional programme
