Visit to Eurofins Food Testing Laboratory

Eurofins is the world leader in food and feed testing, offering a comprehensive range of state-of-the-art analytical techniques to support our customers' in establishing the safety, composition, authenticity, origin, tractability and purity of our food.

During the afternoon you will be given the overview of the one of the biggest global companies for food testing. Following that the laboratory tour will give you the opportunity to gain an insight in:

  • Purpose build facilities operating with lean principles
  • A wide range of analytical methods covering nutrition, allergens and contaminant testing as well as food microbiology
  • Daily activities of analysts
  • Accreditation, audits and courses the group offers

There will also be an opportunity to discuss any questions with technical experts.

Light refreshments will be provided during the tour.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:

Patrick Harte – General Manager

Patrick Harte has more than 10 years’ experience in the food and fresh produce industries having joined British Sugar as a Graduate Trainee. He has experience in Supply Chain Management, Business Development and most recently General Management of the £10m Cornerways business. He was appointed Chair of the BTGA earlier this year. Patrick is responsible for managing the day to day activity of Eurofins flagship lab in the UK. The Wolverhampton laboratory employs 250 staff and is part of Eurofins global network of 250 laboratories across 39 countries.

Dionisis Theodosis - Group Chemistry Technical Manager

Dionisis joined Eurofins as the Group Chemistry Technical Manager, managing research and development activities in UK and acting as the UK Food Chemistry expert for the group. He has over 17 years of experience in food analysis covering a range of techniques and compounds. Prior to his role in Exova and then Eurofins, he was managing the food chemistry team in LGC and also worked in several government funded projects. As part of his role, Dionisis manages due diligence projects, provides risk assessments for various products databases, delivers technical support to customers as well as training. He is part of the Eurofins cross country technical groups in allergens and contaminants testing.
