Celebrating International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day celebrates the economic, political and social achievements of women throughout the world. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender equality.

As the UK’s leading professional body for those involved in all aspects of food science and technology, we are proud that the ratio of our male to female members is about 50/50.

So, to celebrate this years’ International Women’s Day, we want to recognise women in food science roles who have become leaders within the industry. Over the coming weeks, we will focus on some of our members who will tell us how they got to where they are, what challenges they have faced in their careers and what advice they would give to women entering the sector.
