Technical Visit to Suffolk Food Enterprise Zone

Registration is closed for this event
Organised by IFSTs Eastern Branch

IFST members only event

IFST's Eastern Branch has organised a FREE technical visit suited to IFST members with an interest in hearing about government support for Food Enterprise Zones located in Suffolk.

Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils have each been awarded a grant to set up two new Food Enterprise Zones – one in Wherstead called the Orwell Food Enterprise Zone and the other at the Mill Lane Business Park in Stowmarket called the Stowmarket Enterprise Park.

The Councils are producing Local Development Orders (LDO) which will enable some types of development to be quickly built without the need to apply for planning permission. This will give Food & Drink related businesses such as food production, packing, logistics and marketing the opportunity to expand and grow at a faster rate.

The Orwell FEZ in Whersted near Ipswich is already partly operational in that a Local Development Order is in place to support Jimmys Farm with some of their expansion plans and another LDO is in preparation.  The other FEZ is planned for Stowmarket and will be launched in early summer 2018.

There will be a buffet lunch after the discussion.
