Technical Visit Aponic Ltd at Hasse Fen

Registration is closed for this event
Organised by IFST's Eastern Branch

This technical visit will enable IFST members to gain insight into the leading edge thinking of Aponic, a Suffolk-based company that has spent the last 4 years developing a vertical, soil-less growing system that uses 90% less water than traditional agriculture, utilises minimal land footprint to support its growth platform and whose technology can be applied to a wide range of cash crops as well as inner city crop propagation. Thus Aponic is addressing 3 of the major current concerns of the food industry- namely, water usage, land usage and wastage.

The tour will include a talk from Jason-Hawkins Row, proprietor of Aponic Ltd, followed by lunch and, subject to confirmation, a visit to a local commercial installation of the Aponic system.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?  Anyone interested in seeing leading edge plant propagation systems or is concerned about how the food industry might address the ever increasing challenge of feeding more people from a fixed area of land.

This is an IFST members only event.  If you would like to bring a guest, please contact Steve Timms.

COST: FREE

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Bring clothing suitable for inside and outside if you are intending to join the tour of a commercial installation in the afternoon.
