Lauren and James Rogers

Lauren Rogers and her son, James, are the Volunteers of the Week for their help with our daily food facts (on Twitter - #IFST50fact).

Tell us why you joined IFST.

I joined for professional recognition. Being a member of the IFST and the SSG allows me to keep up to date with what is going on in the sensory world and allows me to give something back by helping with the membership and SSG committees.

How important is it as a consultant to be up to date with social media?

It's very useful to help me keep up to date and I have met some interesting people from all walks of life through Twitter and also made some great friends across the globe!

James, do you think that you’ll be a food scientist?

No, thank you - I want to design new computers.

Tell us something about yourself that not many people know.

I have a beautiful black cat called Eric (and a son who wants to design new computers - and I didn't know that until 5 minutes ago!!).
