IFST to hold Food Innovation Forum at IFE Manufacturing 2024

The Institute of Food Science & Technology (IFST) will be hosting its Food Innovation Forum alongside IFE Manufacturing on 25 March at ExCeL London.

IFE Manufacturing, part of Food, Drink & Hospitality Week, is joining forces with IFST to provide an insight into future food innovations and a CPD certificate for attendees.

The forum contains all the ingredients to make food innovation work and will share key learnings for businesses, entrepreneurs, and key stakeholders from across the food system.

Tim McLachlan, CEO of IFST, comments: “We are delighted to be working in collaboration with IFE Manufacturing to bring you this unique opportunity. 2024 is a special year in the lifetime of IFST, as we celebrate 60 years since our foundation in 1964. This event forms part of a unique programme for our Jubilee year, which aims to both celebrate our role as the leading professional body of scientists and technologists in the food system, while also recognising the challenges facing the future of our food system.

“We look forward to welcoming our current and future members to an inspiring and inclusive event that celebrates all that food science and technology brings to our food system, as well as reinforcing our role in inspiring and empowering future generations of food professionals.”

Federico Dellafiore, Event Manager for IFE Manufacturing, adds: “The IFST Food Innovation Forum is a great addition to IFE Manufacturing and aligns with our goal of providing our audience with invaluable insights into the future of food.”

Highlights of the Forum conference programme include a keynote from Jack Bobo, Director of the University of Nottingham’s Food Systems Institute at the University of Nottingham, who will provide a a food systems overview of why exactly we need innovation in food production.

This talk will highlight positive trends in the environment and societal trends we observe day to day. Bobo will also focus on the critical areas where we need to innovate to deal with global population growth and associated demands in nutrition.
