National Food Science and Technology Week 2026: Join the people feeding the world

National Food Science and Technology Week (NFSTW) returns from 1 to 7 June 2026, bringing together the food science and technology community to celebrate the expertise, innovation, and dedication that underpins the global food system.

Now in its latest edition, the week shines a spotlight on the vital work carried out by food scientists and technologists across industry, academia, and policy; and on the professionals who make that work possible.

This year's themes

Throughout the week, IFST will be exploring some of the most pressing and fascinating areas in food science and technology, including food processing, sustainability, and the future of the food system. Each day brings new content, events, and resources designed to inform, inspire, and connect the food science and technology community.

Celebrate the week on social media

We're inviting food scientists, technologists, students, and anyone with a passion for the science behind our food to join the conversation online. Share what you do, why it matters, and what the profession means to you and use the hashtag #foodscitechweek to be part of the national conversation.
