The art of possible - Technical visit to National Centre for Food Manufacturing, University of Lincoln

The National Centre for Food Manufacturing has a strong track record of working with the food industry sector in the development and delivery of training courses and the provision of food business support services. They are committed to helping the sector innovate and work with employers and partners towards this goal, aided by partnerships with leading equipment suppliers and our outstanding specialist facilities, food factory, and cutting-edge automation. During this visit, delegates will have the opportunity to see the facilities at NCFM Holbeach Campus, including the two food halls. There will be a live demonstration of the OAL Steam Infusion and Robotic Cooking technologies, and a discussion on the 'art of possible' - what innovative products can't be made with traditional methods but could be made using robotics. Jake Norman of OAL and Dr Wayne Martindale from NCFM will talk about their collborations and areas of research,  and the challenges of innovation.

What participants will learn about: The new technologies for heat treatment and their potential for innovation. Open up industry networking opportunities and understand the capabilities of NCFM.

Target audience: Food Innovation SIG, Food Processing SIG members and any IFST members interested in food innovation and processing.
