Visit to Wilkin & Sons Ltd, Factory Hill, Tiptree, Essex, CO5 0RF
Please arrive at the main factory reception at 10:00 am. The tour will begin promptly at 10:30.
The Wilkin family have been farming at Tiptree, Essex, since 1757, and making quality preserves and spreads there since 1885. They grow a wide range of traditional English fruits and use them to make conserves, condiments, and other treats in their factory by the farm. The visit will be to both the fruit farm and Jam Factory and will take 3 to 4 hours in total.
What participants will learn about: How a modern preserves factory operates, including how the fruit is grown and sourced.
The site includes a factory shop where the many varieties of Tiptree Preserves can be purchased.
