Call for Members to Join the IFST Finance Committee

Would you like to ensure the continued growth of IFST as the membership organisation for food scientists and technologists? – Call for members to join the IFST Finance Committee (open to those with finance & non finance experience OR broad experience backgrounds welcome)

Aim & Purpose:

The Finance Committee delivers via delegated authority from the Board of Trustees a clear financial strategy that is regularly measured against organisational performance, considers risks and opportunities, and which includes budget, audit and compliance.  This is to enable the Institute to continue to grow and serve its members.

Who?

The Finance Committee offers a unique opportunity to use the transferable skills which are key in food science & technology to oversee, challenge and support IFST activities. Finance experience is not essential but an ability to analyse risk, review information to direct decisions, challenge process & governance alongside a keen interest in business & developing commercial acumen is. This is a perfect opportunity to apply & develop the skills used in many Food Technology roles every day while developing a unique network.

When?

There will be quarterly hybrid meetings, or as needed to meet the specific needs at the time.  The time of these will be agreed by the members including consideration of daytime or evening meetings, workplace commitments and members’ ability to attend occasionally rather than regularly.  The meetings will be recorded to enable engagement by individuals not able to attend at a specific time.

To express your interest please email an outline of your experience and how you feel you can contribute to: Tim McLachlan, Chief Executive, T.McLachlan@ifst.org by Monday 14 August 2023.
