Digital technologies for food safety risk management

Digital technologies are being developed to improve risk management and support food security across the growing complexity of our food supply system. This global complexity and the future application of digital technology is illustrated in a short video created by Nottingham Trent University on Global Food Security Information Architecture.

IFST has developed a set of food risk management system principles which can be found in the presentation shared at the BRC Food Safety Europe Conference in February 2019.

We are continuing to work to understand the opportunities and current initiatives for information, measurement and tracking technologies to support food risk management systems. Please get in touch with Rachel Ward, Scientific Policy Director to share any initiatives and experiences with such technologies on r.ward@ifst.org.
