The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has assessed four different recycling processes for post-consumer polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The assessments are published in the latest issue of EFSA journal.
EFSA found no safety concerns for their future use in food packaging and noted that this recycled form of PET is not intended for use in the microwave or conventional ovens.
