ABOUT THE TALK
The British Retail Consortium Global Standard for food safety has arguably become one of the basic requirements for food manufacturers. Compliance to this standard has become part of everyday life for many food manufacturers since 1998. Every few years it is reviewed and re-issued.... but never reduced. Now many technical managers wait in trepidation in the morning for the call from reception “Surprise ! BRC Auditor is here”. The great and the good of the food business have got together and come up with another version of “ how to make safe, legal food of the quality demanded by consumers”. So the generals have their plan but what about those who have to implement it, and audit against it. How do they view it.
The purpose of this breakfast meeting is to review the experience of the current version 7 of the standard and look at some of the good and bad points after a year of using the standard and being examined against it.
