Kate Halliwell, Head of UK Diet and Health Policy, Food and Drink Federation (FDF)

Kate is the Head of UK Diet and Health policy at the Food and Drink Federation (FDF).  Her role involves the development, implementation and promotion of FDF’s nutrition and health policies across a broad remit, from product reformulation through to workplace wellbeing approaches. This includes extensive liaison with food companies to develop cross-industry policy positions and respond to scientific consultations.  She is a member of IGD’s Industry Nutrition Strategy Group, and an observer on the British Nutrition Foundation’s Industrial Scientists Committee.  Previously Kate worked for the Department of Health and the Food Standards Agency on a range of nutrition policies.  Kate sits on the Nutrition Society Council representing industry and is a registered nutritionist.  

 

Amy Glass, Senior Executive (Diet and Health), FDF 

Amy is a Senior Executive within the Diet and Health team at the Food and Drink Federation (FDF) and an Associate Registered Nutritionist. Her role involves monitoring scientific, technical and regulatory developments within nutrition and providing secretariat support to the FDF nutrition committee. Her key policy areas include the Public Health England reformulation programmes and consultations which have launched from the Government's Childhood Obesity Plans. Previously Amy worked as a Company Nutritionist for a contract caterer and was responsible for development and delivery of the company’s nutrition strategy. 

 

Jennifer Arthur, Head of Nutrition and Product Development, Leatherhead Food Research 

With over 25 years of nutrition and marketing experience, Jennifer Arthur leads Leatherhead Food Research’s Nutrition and Product Development teams providing integrated solutions for members and clients. A nutritionist and marketer by training, Jenny specialises in developing and implementing nutrition and health strategies for the food industry. Jenny has a broad range of industry expertise, working for a range of private sector companies before managing the Department of Health’s Nutrition programme. After completing an MSc in Public Health Nutrition, Jenny worked for Marks & Spencer as their Health and Wellbeing Marketer before becoming the Company Nutritionist. Immediately prior to joining Leatherhead Food Research in 2014, Jenny ran her own Marketing and Nutrition Consultancy developing health and nutrition strategies for a range of clients including retailers and food manufacturers. Jenny now also heads up Leatherhead’s membership team.

 

Lindsey Bagley, Eureka

Lindsey has formal science qualifications followed by a career of over 35 years as a hands-on product and process developer in the food & healthcare industries. She is expert in formulation and manufacture of products and has been responsible for the launch of over 450 retail products, 30 new ingredients and her work has supported over 20 patents.  Lindsey’s experience in product and process development was firstly with Beecham Products then Tate & Lyle and since 1989 she has been an independent consultant to the food industry. Lindsey currently operates her consultancy Eureka focusing on new product development projects and is a director of Flavour Horizons which organises events for the Flavour Industry.

 

 

Alex Rowberry, Consumer Insight Director, Kantar Nutrition 

10 years’ experience working in market research with the last 2 years working in the Kantar Nutrition team delivering projects to government agencies, industry bodies, manufacturers and retailers in the UK food and drink industry as well as academics and charities looking into the impact of food and drink purchases.
