Technical Visit to Tennants Fine Chemicals

IFST members have the opportunity to visit the number one producer of Esters and Aromas in the UK! Established in 1797, Tennants Fine Chemicals (TFC) is a family owned company based in Leek, in the Staffordshire Moorlands and is a global supplier of Liquid Chemicals used by manufacturers in Primary Production Processes. They produce over 24,000 tons of liquid chemicals each year, exporting to almost 90 different countries worldwide.

The event will include a tour of the various production sites as well as a chance to experience the company's products sensorially.

Tennants is on the outskirts of Leek, a small market town on the edge of the Peak District. Leek is renowned for its real ale pubs if you wish to continue conducting sensory assessments... There are also several places in town to eat or stay overnight. If you would like more information please contact Lauren.

Who should attend? This event is open only to IFST members and in particular anyone interested in fine chemical production. 

Cost: Free event for IFST members.

Important Information: No attendees are permitted from competitive businesses. Tennants Fine Chemicals is a working factory so your registration will be sent to them for approval before a confirmation/cancellation email is sent to you. Please include your current employer when registering or email us here to update your details. 

Dress code: During the tour, all attendees will be required to wear standard PPE including:
-    high visibility yellow jackets/coats covering arms
-    hard hats
-    safety goggles/glasses
-    antistatic safety boots/shoes with steel toe caps

TFC can provide a limited number of this equipment, but if any members can provide their own on the day it would be much appreciated, especially safety boots/shoes.
