On Wednesday, 9 May 2018 I was one of nine finalists that participated in the IFST Young Scientist Competition at London Metropolitan University. The Young Scientist Competition provides an opportunity for both undergraduate and postgraduate students studying Food Science or Nutrition related subjects to present research undertaken as part of their degrees to a panel of industry professionals and academics. It was highly competitive, with presentations being delivered in an engaging, informative and passionate manner. I found the experience invaluable, helping to develop my presentation skills, challenging me to consider the relevance and applicability of my research to industry, and providing the chance to network with other students, judges and members of IFST.
I very much enjoyed participating in the competition and would highly recommend it to all passionate young scientists!
