IFST Lecture 2019: ‘Ultra-processed foods: The science and the policy’, Northern Ireland

The IFST Northern Ireland (NI) Branch were delighted to welcome attendees from across the food sector to Moy Park to watch the live streaming of IFST’s lecture given by Professor Michael Gibney. After a welcome by the NI chair Declan Ferguson and the IFST Chief Executive, Jon Poole, Professor Gibney’s talk got underway. Providing an informative, interesting and thought-provoking lecture, Professor Gibney provided a real insight into the area of ultra-processed foods, focusing not just on the science but the policy, too. Furthermore, there was also the fantastic opportunity to engage throughout the evening with our fellow IFST counterparts on Twitter through a live Q &A session.

A successful evening was rounded off with a drinks reception. IFST NI would like to thank HQ for all their help in facilitating the event, Moy Park for hosting, Professor Gibney for an excellent talk and all attendees for making the night so informative and enjoyable.
