She is a founder member and past Chair of SSG, and feels that participating in the SSG allows her to give something back by helping to shape the future of sensory science and to raise its profile and professional standing, whilst benefiting from networking and learning opportunities.

Regional Product Sensory Manager at British American Tobacco (BAT)

Virginie joined the SSG to work towards improving standards in sensory, and to stay aware of latest methods. She sees it as important for participating in discussion forums, networking with other professionals and to improve the credibility and visibility of sensory science.

Silvia was keen to be actively involved in the world of sensory science by joining SSG. She enjoys meetings and conferences where she keeps up-to-date with sensory developments and meets up with other sensory professionals.

Dr Victoria Whelan MIFST

Sensory Scientist at British American Tobacco (BAT)

Vicky is the sensory expert sitting on BAT’s Human Research Committee which considers the ethics of sensory & consumer research. Her PhD at Nottingham University explored the sensory properties of chocolate in different matrices. Vicky joined the SSG to network, keep up-to-date and make the most of knowledge sharing opportunities.

Assistant Professor in Sensory and Consumer Sciences at the University of Nottingham (UoN)

Qian is an ethical committee member at the School of Biosciences UoN that considers ethics of conducting research project. Being part of the SSG group gives her the opportunity to contribute and shape the future of sensory science and network with experts in the field.
